Our story
benefit started as a frustrated group chat. Three friends trying to figure out if their therapist visit would be covered. One insurance PDF. Three hours. Zero clarity.
In 2026, Jack — a 26-year-old on an employer plan — needed a therapist. He had insurance through work. He called his insurer. He was on hold for 47 minutes. He was transferred three times. He gave up.
That same visit — a mental health screening — was covered at $0 under his plan. He just didn't know. He didn't see a therapist for another 14 months.
Jack's story isn't unusual. It's the norm. And we think that's completely unacceptable.
The Affordable Care Act mandates that most health insurance plans cover a comprehensive list of preventive services at no cost to the patient. No copay. No deductible. Nothing.
The list is extensive — over 50 services including annual physicals, mental health screenings, STI tests, cancer screenings, vaccines, and more. All paid for by the premiums you already pay.
Yet according to the CDC, only 8% of adults in the US receive all their recommended preventive services. The primary reason? They don't know they're entitled to them.

People aged 18-35 are in a uniquely challenging position. Many are on insurance for the first time, navigating it without parental guidance. They're dealing with new stressors — student debt, career uncertainty, relationship changes — that impact both physical and mental health.
At the same time, this is the window where early intervention matters most. The habits, screenings, and care you access in your 20s and early 30s have an outsized impact on your health outcomes at 50, 60, and beyond.
We're not just building a benefits decoder. We're building the health companion we all wish we'd had at 22 — one that knows your plan, knows the research, and actually speaks like a person.

The insurance industry profits from your confusion. We believe you deserve to understand exactly what you're paying for — in plain English.

We don't treat mental and physical health as separate categories. Anxiety, depression, stress — these deserve the same urgency as anything else in your body.

Building benefit because navigating health insurance as a young adult shouldn't require a law degree. After watching friends pay for things their plans already covered, and skip things they desperately needed, I decided to build the tool I wished had existed.
